Shortcat Is Bringing Moon Shark to Animated Life

Say hello to Sid. Shortcat has acquired the rights to adapt Moon Shark: From Princess to Celebrity into a vertical anime, and this one arrives with serious pedigree.

Moon Shark is the first spin off from the Baby Shark universe, created by The Pinkfong Company, whose songs have gathered more than 15 billion views on YouTube. It was co produced with M Story Hub, the studio behind the global hit The Remarried Empress, and it comes on the back of a major partnership between Pinkfong and TBS, one of Japan’s biggest commercial broadcasters.

The fanbase is already moving. The animated “Moonlight” music video has passed 1 million views on YouTube and 1.67 million on Instagram, and the series is distributed across eleven platforms in Japan and Korea plus five more in English.
